About Wakarusa American Legion Post 307
Our History
Wakarusa American Legion Post 307 has been proudly serving our community and honoring our veterans in Wakarusa and surrounding Elkhart County for decades. Our post has grown to become a cornerstone of veteran support and community service in northern Indiana.
Located in the heart of Wakarusa, Indiana, our post is home to three distinct but united organizations: The American Legion, Sons of The American Legion, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Together, we work toward common goals of veteran advocacy, community service, mentorship of youth, and promotion of patriotism throughout Elkhart County and beyond.
Our Mission
"To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America; to maintain law and order; to foster and perpetuate a one hundred percent Americanism; to preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in all wars; to inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation; to combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses; to make right the master of might; to promote peace and goodwill on earth; to safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy; to consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness."
